Channel 4 Documentary - Contributors Sought
Channel 4 is looking for contributors for the award-winning observational documentary series Wife Swap that looks at family life in the UK, celebrating different lifestyles in modern Britain. They are very keen to find a lively, fun family who would be happy to open their doors and share their culture, way of life and family values. From cooking and cleaning to childcare and careers anyone who thinks they can teach others about their chosen lifestyle should definitely apply!
We have been assured that Channel 4 is very keen that the series has a new approach. They want this series to be a true reflection of family life in Britain today. The emphasis on the programme this series is learning and resolution.
The programme involves the mothers from two different families swapping places to experience life in another household, and hopefully learn about themselves and each other in the process. After eight series of Wife Swap, they are keen to explore different issues and types of families and in doing so are widening their search for potential contributors.
They are very interested in talking to Christian families who would be happy to share their way of life, culture and family values. They are looking to talk to families with children still in the home, and who want to communicate to others the importance of having faith in today's society.
The swap takes place over 8 days, and there is a filming day each side of this period - to film with your family as a whole and a table meeting at the end when both families discuss what they have learnt. A small and friendly production crew film in the house and there will be one member of the team living with each wife in the house, so they will always have a member of the team on hand.
Due to the format, families need to have children in the home. They are also offering families that appear on the show £2000 as a thank you fee/loss of earnings for the mother.
